Book Logistics
Along with China's incredible GDP growth, the book industry has developed rapidly in the last two decades with annual growth rates as high as 9.4%. Presently, there are over 570 publishing companies and over 1,500 book distributors in China, with over 900 of them--including all the publishing companies and most of the distributors--have been stable clients of Baolong Logistics. In 2006, the following Chinese publishers submitted their entire inventory of books to Baolong Logistics: the National Defense Industry Press, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press, China Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, and Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology Press. Baolong Logistics' market share in China has risen to 65%.
Market Analysis
Since China first declared its reform and "open-up policy" in the 1980's, the domestic book publishing market has maintained a consistent rate of growth. In 2005, the sales revenue of the Chinese book publishing market was over US$16.2 billion, which equates to 15.8 billion publications, or an 8.7% increase compared to the previous year (accounting for GDP growth). It is safe to assume the book publishing market of China will face increasing sales revenue in the near term. Book sales will continually increase, driven by a combination of an increasing population, increasing education levels, and increasing disposable income. Baolong Logistics faces many opportunities for growth.
